Story
TinyCoats began with a tiny dog and a long family line of makers.
My love for creating started with my late little Lotus, who struggled to find clothing gentle enough for his delicate skin. One ill-fitting raincoat left him bruised - so I made his next one myself. What began as necessity became devotion.
Today, Jimmy carries that torch. He’s more than my muse; he’s my fit-tester, quality-checker, and the soul of this brand.
Crafting has always lived in my family.
My grandmother stitched dresses and lingerie on her pedal-powered Singer. My mum curated her own beautifully made wardrobe. My dad ran a small workshop in the ’90s, knitting leggings and making acid-wash denim. I grew up surrounded by fabric, thread, and hands that knew how to turn raw material into something meaningful.
As a child, I made clothes for my dolls from scraps and whatever I could rescue from around the house. Later, I made my own outfits. Over the years I refined my skills through fashion design and patternmaking - including specialised courses in K9 fashion.
TinyCoats officially came to life in 2023, after countless strangers stopped me to ask about Jimmy’s tiny jackets. I realised there was a need for thoughtful, well-made clothing designed specifically for the smallest dogs - pieces that fit beautifully, feel gentle, and last.
Every TinyCoats piece is crafted slowly and intentionally.
I work with natural and eco-friendly fabrics wherever possible, favour upcycled textiles, and create in a calm, smoke and toxin free studio where each stitch is placed with care. Quiet luxury, but for dogs - tiny ones.
At the heart of TinyCoats is collaboration.
You, your dog, and I create each piece together. Perfect fit, comfort, and personality all matter - and every jacket, jumper, or shirt reflects that shared process.
Thank you for being part of this little world Jimmy and I are creating.
With love,
Lilly & Jimmy
